English Writing Editing
Writing can be of many types. It can be used for communication by most of the people or it may be taken up as a profession where people are engaged in creative writing, article writing or any other type of academic writing.
One thing that is very essential in all types of writing is that the whole text should be flawless to make it professional and easily comprehensible by the readers. To get a final copy of flawless text the person should have the proficiency of editing the text in such a way that all the errors are detected and rectified.
A person who has the proficiency in writing may not have the expertise in editing as writing means putting down the thoughts and ideas on the paper which has to be communicated to the reader. On the other hand editing requires some special skill. There are two types of editing, content editing and copy editing.
Both types of editing is required for the written text and this has become all the more necessary for English language as globalization has forced people of all the countries to adopt English as the primary means of communication.
Difference between Content and Copy Editing
There is a vast difference between content editing and copy editing. Copy editing means proofreading, where the common spelling, grammar and punctuation errors are rectified without making any changes in the original text. Content editing is a higher level editing where many changes are brought into the original text to bridge the gap between the ideas of the writer and the desires of the reader.
